Fire breaks out at three-story Ludhiana Hotel; Couple dies, 5 injured

After receiving the information, the District Magistrate and the Police of Police Station Division No. 5 reached the spot along with the police of Chowki Bus Stand Chowki Kochar Market.

Ludhiana: A fire broke out in a hotel in Ludhiana near the bus stand Jawahar Nagar camp on Thursday morning. Five people fainted due to the fire and were admitted to a private hospital. It is also reported that a couple who was there in the hospital died due to fire mishap.

After receiving the information, the District Magistrate and the Police of Police Station Division No. 5 reached the spot along with the police of Chowki Bus Stand Chowki Kochar Market. The police have started investigating the matter.

According to information, some guests were staying at Hotel Royal Blue near the bus stand and a couple was also staying there. A sudden fire broke out in the hotel around five o’clock on Thursday morning. In no time the fire took a terrible shape. The fire reached the second floor, where the couple was staying in a room.

The guests staying at the hotel could not come out of their rooms as the way out of the hotel was very narrow. The smoke caused suffocation and people fainted. Everyone was rushed to hospital, where the said couple died. The police have reached the spot and sealed the hotel after investigation. The reason behind fire is yet to be known.
