Fire breaks out in grocery store in Ludhiana, goods gutted

As per the preliminary investigation, a Short circuit is said as the cause of the fire.

Ludhiana: A fire broke out in a grocery store near Ludhiana Highway Kachha Malak Road in Jagraon. On learning about the fire, the shop owner reached the spot, after which an attempt was made to extinguish the fire by pouring water from buckets. But the fire kept spreading, after which the fire brigade was informed. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire, but by then everything had turned into a pile of ashes.

According to the information, a passerby saw smoke rising from Satpal Kirana Store located on Ludhiana Highway at around 7 am today following which he informed the shop owner about this.

On receiving information about the fire in the shop, shop owner Satpal reached the spot. Earlier, the people of the area tried to control the fire by pouring water from buckets, but the fire kept increasing. After which the fire brigade was informed. The fire brigade that reached the spot controlled the fire. The fire was so intense that there was a stampede-like situation among the shopkeepers nearby caused due to panic. The fire was extinguished, but by then goods worth lakhs were burnt to ashes.
