Kapurthala: News of a sudden fire in Gurudwara Sahib in Sheikhupur Colony on Sultanpur Lodhi Road in Kapurthala has been reported. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in which. Two holy swaroops of Shri Guru Maharaj have also been damaged in the fire incident.
After receiving information, the PCR team, City Thana Police and Fire Brigade team reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation, and brought the fire under control. The local congregation also helped in extinguishing the fire. It is being told that the fire broke out due to a short circuit.
On the other hand, DSP Harpreet Singh said that both the swaroops of Shri Guru Maharaj that were burnt in the fire incident have been handed over to SGPC member Jarnail Singh Dograwala with full faith. He also told that the preliminary investigation has revealed that this fire broke out due to a short circuit. It has been brought under control after a lot of effort.
According to the information received from the police, a sudden fire broke out in Gurudwara Shri Singh Sabha Guru Nanak Chowk in Sheikhupur Colony in the afternoon in which goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in the Gurudwara Sahib.After getting the information of the incident, the PCR team, City Thana Police and the Fire Brigade team along with the Sangat and Chief Granthi Bagicha Singh reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation and controlled the fire.
After getting the information of the fire incident, the swaroops that were burnt were handed over in the presence of SGPC member Jarnail Singh Dograwala who reached the spot. DSP Subdivision Harpreet Singh has also told that the fire has caused a lot of damage to the Gurudwara Sahib. Jarnail Singh also told that after the building of Gurudwara Sahib is repaired, the swaroops will be brought again.
