Amritsar, June 8: A massive fire broke out in a paint factory in the Angad area of Amritsar, Punjab on Sunday. Two people died and two were injured in the fire. It took almost 4 hours to extinguish the fire. Actually, it was difficult to control the fire due to the chemicals kept inside the factory. Initial investigation has revealed that the factory was running in a house.
According to ACP Central Jaspal Singh, this factory was running in a house. There is a residential area nearby. Due to which the nearby houses have been evacuated. After the news of the fire in the morning, there was chaos in the surrounding area. The residents of the surrounding area informed the fire brigade and the police. The fire department team reached the spot. So far more than 5 fire tenders are trying to control the fire.
Since it was a paint factory, many types of flammable chemicals were lying inside. Due to which the fire spread rapidly and now it is becoming difficult to control it. Fire brigade teams have started using foam to control the fire. So far five vehicles are on the spot, which are controlling the fire by taking turns.

Police busy in identifying the dead
According to the information received, the factory owner is missing since the incident. When the fire broke out, workers were working inside. Two died due to burn injuries. The deceased are workers. The police have started efforts to identify them.
Whether the factory is legal or illegal will be clear after investigation
Police officer Jaspal Singh, who reached the spot, said that initially the cause of the fire appears to be a short circuit, but the investigation into the matter is ongoing. He said, “It is also being investigated whether the factory was running illegally in a residential area or not. The deceased is being identified and his family is being contacted.”
