Fire ravages Jai Mahadev factory in Ludhiana; Doused after 7-hours of hard work

A huge fire broke out in Jai Mahadev Hosiery Factory located in Kirpal Nagar, Ludhiana at around 2:30 am.

Ludhiana: A huge fire broke out in Jai Mahadev Hosiery Factory located in Kirpal Nagar, Ludhiana at around 2:30 am. When the people nearby saw the flames, they raised an alarm. They informed the factory owner. Who immediately informed the fire brigade. The fire brigade reached the spot and started the rescue work. After about 7 hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control in the morning.

According to information, the cause of the fire is a short circuit but even the fire brigade officials are not saying anything officially. When this incident happened in Kirpal Nagar, there was immediate panic among the people. People were evacuated from the nearby buildings as well. The factory is a 4-storey building including the ground floor. All the material lying in the factory was reduced to ashes.

Factory owner Ketan said

Ketan said that people informed him that the factory caught fire. The factory has suffered losses worth crores. The factory was closed when the fire broke out. It is suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit because sparking has happened in transformers many times before.

Fire officer Rajindra said

Giving information, fire officer Rajindra said that at 2.40 am he received information about the fire from the control room. Without any delay, firefighters reached to extinguish the fire. The fire was so terrible that it engulfed the entire building in no time.

Around 64 fire brigade vehicles were used to douse the fire throughout the night. The fire was brought under control after about 7 hours of effort.
