AITC delegation met farmers: Meeting held at Khanauri border in Haryana, Mamata Banerjee spoke on phone.

Chandigarh: A five-member delegation of Trinamool Congress MPs has met the farmers protesting at Haryana Khanauri border against the central government on several issues including MSP of crops.

These people include MPs Derek O’Brien, Mohammad Nadimul Haque, Dola Sen, Sagarika Ghosh and Saket Gokhale. On this occasion, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee spoke to the farmers on phone. Also assured them of all possible help. She said that even though the elections are over now, she will raise this matter in the Lok Sabha.

The party has said in a statement that party supremo Mamata Banerjee has said that she is with the farmers who are on struggle. At the same time, she has demanded that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Center should fulfill the demands of the farmers. She says that the demands of the farmers are justified. The government should take this issue seriously.

This struggle of farmers in Punjab has been going on since February regarding the MSP of crops. The farmers wanted to go to Delhi, but the Haryana government stopped them at the border. After this, the farmers had set up a permanent protest. Meanwhile, the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections was imposed. After this, the farmers stood firm there.

However, farmer Shubhkaran Singh died on the Khanauri border itself. This matter is being investigated by a committee formed by the High Court.
