Amritsar: An alert has been issued regarding fog in Punjab. In the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature dropped by -0.5 degrees and the minimum by 1 degree. However, this temperature in the state is close to normal. Punjab has two Western Disturbances Active (WD). Due to this the Meteorological Department has also predicted light rain in some areas today.
According to the Meteorological Center, a yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in Chandigarh. Apart from this, an orange alert has been issued regarding fog in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala of Punjab. Yellow Alert is in force in other cities in Punjab.
According to the Meteorological Center, good sunshine is seen in Punjab and Chandigarh for a few days. At the same time, the western disturbance will also start slowing down from today. After which the temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the coming days. Due to this the people of Punjab-Chandigarh will get slight relief.
Soon a new western disturbance is also becoming active. According to the Meteorological Center, a new western disturbance will also become active on December 18, affecting the Himalayan mountain range. There are chances of rain in Himachal. After which the cold will increase due to the winds coming from the mountains.
