The Counter Intelligence team Amritsar made a significant breakthrough while working on the forward and backward linkages of a previous case. The CI team Amritsar recovered 3 Kg of heroin from the accused. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Police acting swiftly on forward-backward linkages in a follow-up action made a breakthrough by recovering an additional 3 Kg Heroin from accused Lovepreet Singh. This additional 3 Kg Heroin recovery is done on the basis of the disclosure statement of the accused Harmandeep Singh from aforesaid Lovepreet Singh at Bus Stand Khasa, Amritsar-Attari GT Road, Amritsar.
Lovepreet Singh has been arrested and named as an accused in the FIR. During the initial operation initiated on dated 18.02.2025 based on secret information, 10 Kg Heroin were recovered from accused Harmandeep Singh.
With the recent recovery, the total quantity of heroin seized in connection with this case has now reached 13 Kgs. An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at PS State Special Operations Cell SSOC Amritsar & further investigation is underway to identify other associates.
DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police is committed in its resolve to eliminate drug trafficking and ensure a safer Punjab.
