Jalandhar: In a fight against food adulteration, Punjab’s Food Safety Department today carried out inspections across various food establishments in Jalandhar today. Under the direction of Commissioner Food Safety Punjab Abhinav Trikha, a team led by Assistant Commissioner Dr. Harjot Pal Singh including Food Safety Officer Mukul Gill, collected six samples of paneer from areas such as Model Town, J.P. Nagar, Basti Danashimanda, and Basti Sheikh. These samples will undergo testing for adulterants and other quality parameters.
The department has also emphasized that these inspections will continue in the future and urged Food Business Operators (FBOs) to adhere to Good Hygienic Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure consumer safety.
This initiative aligns with the department’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and quality of dairy products in the region. He mentioned that the regular inspections and strict enforcement of food safety standards are part of the broader strategy to protect public health.
