DSP Vinod Kumar, who had summoned former Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in a land scam in Ludhiana, Punjab, has given a statement in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Gurpreet Kaur that he has not yet named Ashu in the case.
For this reason, the court has cancelled Ashu’s anticipatory bail. Earlier on June 6, the vacation bench of Additional Sessions Judge Jaspinder Singh had granted interim anticipatory bail to Ashu till June 11.
Demand in court – Vigilance should give notice 3 days before arrest
During the hearing, a team of advocates appearing on behalf of the former minister demanded the court to grant bail or alternatively direct the Vigilance Bureau that if arrest is to be made, then notice should be given at least three days in advance.
District Attorney Puneet Jaggi, Government Advocate Ramandeep Toor Gill, Monita Gupta, Ajay Singla and Government Advocate Gurpreet Grewal posted in the Vigilance Bureau argued and opposed the petition.
Summons were sent in the scam of 2400 crores
Earlier, Ashu was summoned in connection with the scam of 2 thousand 400 crores related to the misuse of school land in Sarabha Nagar. Today, the leadership also held a press conference in the Congress election office in this matter. In the summons issued by DSP Vinod Kumar on June 4, Ashu was directed to appear for questioning today on Friday (June 6).
