Jalandhar: The additional Sessions court has granted Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s remand of 5 days to ED. Yesterday ED arrested him after brief interrogation and today the court remanded 5 days custody. Enforcement Directorate (ED) Jalandhar has arrested the former Congress minister in the Food and Civil Supplies transport tender scam after hours of grilling.
When former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was in charge of the Food and Civil Supplies Ministry during the Congress regime, he was accused of a scam in tenders worth about Rs 2 thousand crores. Large-scale irregularities were revealed in the tenders of labor and transportation in the markets of Punjab. After this, during the search, ED found documents of property worth about one and a half crore rupees. During this, about 30 lakh rupees were also seized.
