Former MP Gurcharan Kaur passes away in Faridkot

BJP state secretary Durgesh Sharma, along with the BJP and other party leaders, have expressed condolences on the death of Bibi Gurcharan Kaur.

Faridkot: A former Rajya Sabha member and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Bibi Gurcharan Kaur, died today in Faridkot. She was ill for a long time. This afternoon, she breathed her last in the village of Panjgarai Kala in the Faridkot district.

Senior woman leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Gurcharan Kaur Panjgarai’s son has gone abroad, so the time for the last rites has not been decided yet.

BJP state secretary Durgesh Sharma, along with the BJP and other party leaders, have expressed condolences on the death of Bibi Gurcharan Kaur. He said that Bibi Gurcharan Kaur has been an active member of the party from the beginning of the BJP until now. She has been rich in humility. Her sociable personality impressed everyone. She was ill for a long time.

With the death of Bibi Gurcharan Kaur, a wave of mourning is being seen among the BJP leaders and workers in Faridkot and the entire Punjab.

Gurcharan Kaur Panjgarai, sister of Jaito BJP leader Gurbachan Singh Patanga, who was martyred during the dark days of terrorism, was a teacher by profession. After retirement in 1994, she joined the BJP and worked in various positions from the district level to the national level. She was made a Rajya Sabha MP during the tenure of the Akali BJP government in the state. She remained a Rajya Sabha MP from 1 June 2001 to 1 July 2004.
