Amritsar, July 8: Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s sister-in-law, Lovejit Kaur, was arrested late Monday night at Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab. Lovejit Kaur had arrived at the airport to go to Australia. She was taken into custody at the airport due to a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against her. Lovejit Kaur has been arrested in the murder case of gangster Gora Bariyar, who was killed in Batala.
According to preliminary information, a case was registered against Lovejit Kaur wife of Mandeep Singh under serious sections under FIR number 89 registered on 26 May 2025 at police station Ghuman Batala. The police had issued a lookout circular (LOC) in the case so that the accused could not flee the country. Lovejit had recently come to India to attend the funeral of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s mother after her murder.
Security agencies interrogated Lovejit Kaur overnight and then handed her over to the Batala police. The Batala police is now investigating the case further.

Know who was Gora Bariyar
Gora Bariyar’s real name was Gurpreet Singh Gora, who was a resident of Bariyar village in Gurdaspur. He was 33 years old. He was a member of Billa Gora gang, which had no direct connection with Bambiha gang. But Bambiha gang had declared after this murder that whoever was behind this murder would not be spared.
Why Jaggu killed Gora has not been clear till date. If sources are to be believed, Gora and Billa gangs were expanding their influence in Jaggu’s area. Jaggu also suspected that they were working for his enemy Bambiha gang. At the time of the murder on May 26, Gora’s partner Billa was also with him, but he escaped. Even today the police have not been able to catch anyone other than Nelson. But Bambiha gang has committed three murders in the name of Gora.
Jaggu’s mother is murdered for Gora Bariyar
Paramjit Kaur, mother of Punjab’s notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, was shot dead outside her house in Batala on 27 June 2025. When this incident happened, Jaggu’s partner Karanveer was also present in the car. The attackers came on a bike at 9.15 pm and fled after firing. After the incident, Punjab Police had suspected gang war.
Investigation revealed that the Bambiha gang was behind the murder, who had done this firing to kill Gora. But the Bambiha gang had done this firing for Karanveer and they did not know that Jaggu’s mother was also present in the car.
