It is clearly written in the post – meeting people at home and listening to important issues and problems.
After this post on Facebook, a political atmosphere has again been created on this seat. According to sources in the Aam Aadmi Party, it has been learned that Gogi’s family has once again become active among the people only after getting the green signal from the state high command. Gogi’s wife Dr. Sukhchain Kaur Bassi has been a councilor of her ward earlier as well, but this time she lost the election. Gogi’s family can definitely get sympathy votes from the constituency.
It is difficult for the party to find a leader of Gogi’s stature
It is difficult for the AAP high command to find a leader of Gogi’s stature in this assembly constituency. Gogi has been a councilor three times from this assembly constituency. He was elected councilor for the first time in the year 2002 on a Congress ticket.
In the year 2007, his wife Sukhchain Kaur became a councilor. After this, Gogi was a councilor from the year 2012 to 2023, but in the year 2022, Gogi left the Congress and joined the AAP. He became an MLA for the first time by taking a ticket from West. Gogi defeated Bharat Bhushan Ashu from West.
West constituency is the center of city politics
Talking about the assembly constituencies of Ludhiana city, there are 7 urban areas here. But West constituency is considered the center of politics. From the corporate world to every big official, mostly lives in this constituency. The city’s big clubs and religious institutions are mostly in this constituency.
Congress’ former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was an MLA from the West constituency before Gogi. After Gogi’s death, the Congress can again show confidence in Ashu and field him in the by-election. This time Ashu’s career will also be at stake in the by-election, because Ashu’s wife Mamta Ashu Nigam has lost the election.
There is a discussion in the city that the Congress is divided into two factions. Ashu has ideological differences with MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, due to which it is difficult for both the leaders to come on one platform. The reason for the differences with Warring is that the Congress was giving ticket to Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Lok Sabha elections.
Ashu’s name was at the top of the list of strong contenders, but being the state head Amarinder Singh Raja Warring got the ticket from Ludhiana. After which the leaders of Ashu faction are not openly campaigning in support of Warring, but have come down to the ground level. Due to this, Raja Warring lagged behind in urban areas and only the rural vote bank gave him victory. Due to these main reasons, it will not be easy for Ashu to win this seat.
