Amritsar: Gold worth Rs 1.5 crore has been recovered at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar. This gold has been seized by the Customs Department from a passenger from Dubai. Surprisingly, the passenger had hidden this gold in his undergarment. After getting suspicious, the Customs Department caught him and recovered gold on checking from him.
A passenger had brought about 2 kg of gold hidden in his underwear on a flight from Dubai at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport. As soon as the flight landed at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar, the passenger was caught during checking. The value of the seized gold is said to be around Rs 1.5 crore.
The Customs officials have taken the accused and the gold into custody. According to the information, the passenger had filled four pouches with gold in paste form and hidden it in his underwear. On receiving the information, the Customs officials started a thorough investigation of the passengers who got off the flight.
During this, four pouches were recovered from the underwear of a person, in which 1935.14 grams of gold was filled in the form of paste. The Customs Department has registered a case under the Act and started an investigation.
