Government procurement of wheat in Punjab from today, arrangements made in mandis

Government procurement has started today, but it will take 15 to 20 days for wheat to reach the mandis.

Wheat procurement is going to start in Punjab from April 1, for which the government has completed all the necessary preparations.

According to the information received, this time the government price of wheat has been fixed at Rs 2475 per quintal. Of course, government procurement has started today, but it will take 15 to 20 days for wheat to reach the mandis. So far, all the mandis in Punjab are empty.

Food Distribution and Supplies Minister Lalchand Kataruchak has claimed that all arrangements have been made in the mandis and now they are waiting for the farmers to arrive. This time a cash credit limit of Rs 28,000 crore has been made available, through which the farmers will be paid the full MSP within 24 hours.

Minister Kataruchak said that the required quantity of wheat has been delivered to 1,864 mandis and procurement centers of the state. Apart from this, 700 temporary procurement centres have also been prepared, which will be used when required. Water, medical and other essential arrangements have been made in the mandis for the convenience of the farmers.
