Jalandhar, March 18: Rajya Sabha member and famous cricketer Mr. Harbhajan Singh today gifted three ambulances to the Civil Surgeon Office and District Red Cross Society from his MP Land Fund. These ambulances will be used to transport patients in the district, ensure their quick treatment and safe transportation.
Apart from this, keeping in mind the convenience of the disabled, the Rajya Sabha member also provided five battery operated wheelchairs to the District Red Cross Society. These wheel chairs will prove to be helpful for the easy movement of the disabled. Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal was also present on this occasion.
While flagging off the ambulances, Mr. Harbhajan Singh said that out of these, 2 ambulances have been given to the Civil Surgeon Office and 1 ambulance to the District Red Cross Society. He said that these ambulances will help in taking the patients to the hospital quickly and safely. Assuring all possible help in the future, he said that he is always available to serve the residents of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal thanked Rajya Sabha member Harbhajan Singh for this initiative. He said that human life can be saved by reaching the hospital on time through ambulance. He directed the Secretary District Red Cross Society to deliver wheelchairs to the beneficiaries soon.
It is worth mentioning that Jagdish of Mohalla Saran Tehsil Nakodar, Sukhjeet Kaur of village Malowal, Jasvir Singh of Basti Bawa Khel Jalandhar, Amrik Singh of village Sindhar and Yadvinder Singh of village Kang Kalan will get the benefit of these wheel chairs.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurmeel Lal, District Program Officer-cum-Secretary District Red Cross Society Manjinder Singh etc. were also present.
