Haryana Govt approaches SC as today last day to open Shambhu Border; farmer leaders call meeting in Chandigarh

Farmer leaders have called a meeting in Chandigarh today to formulate a further strategy.

Chandigarh: Today is the last day of the week given by the Punjab and Haryana High Court to open the Shambhu border. Earlier last week, giving a strict verdict, Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered Haryana government to open the border within one week and remove the blockades.

The Haryana government is waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision. However, on July 10, the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered the border to be opened within 7 days. Today is its last day.

Farmer leaders have called a meeting in Chandigarh today. After this, a press conference will be held to give information about the meeting. In this they can make announcements regarding the Delhi March.

Today, groups of farmers from several districts of Punjab will reach Khanuri border near Jind and Shambhu border near Ambala. These tractor-trolleys have ration for 6 months.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, who reached Shambhu border on Monday, said that after besieging the SP office of Ambala on July 17 and 18 to demand the release of farmer leader Navdeep, a grand convention will be held at Constitution Club in New Delhi on July 22.

Haryana Police is also taking action view of farmers protest. Section 144 (163B NSS under the new Act) has been implemented.
