Chandigarh: The interview case of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in the custody of the Punjab Police, will be heard in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today On this occasion, the Punjab Police will file a reply in the court and state what action has been taken against the police officers responsible for the interview. As it was stated in the previous hearing notices have been issued to all responsible officials, and action will be taken within 10 days.
Along with this, the ongoing trial in the Mohali court was stayed in this case because it came to the notice of the Supreme Court that the cancellation report was filed in this case without informing them.
Punjab Police has taken action against the officials responsible for the first interview. Authorities have suspended officials of from DSP to Head Constable rank. They include DSP Gursher Singh (Amritsar-based 9th Battalion), DSP Samar Vaneet, Sub Inspector Reena (posted at CIA Kharar), Sub Inspector Jagatpal Jangu (posted at AGTF), Sub Inspector Shaganjit Singh (AGTF), ASI Mukhtiar Singh and Head Constable. On the other hand the Rajasthan Police is investigating the second interview.
Two interviews of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi went viral. According to the SIT report, the first interview was held on 3 and 4 September 2023 whereas the second interview took place at the Central Jail in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
