The highest temperature of 47.1 degrees has been recorded in Fazilka. All districts are crossing 42 degrees, temperature has been recorded above 45 degrees in 10 districts.
However, there has been no change in the maximum temperature in 24 hours. However, the temperature is 6.6 degrees higher than normal days. At the same time, due to the start of paddy season, the demand for electricity has increased significantly. The demand for electricity reached 15425, whereas last year this demand was 9051 MW. At the same time, Ropar unit also closed due to technical fault. Due to this, a power crisis arose.
Alerts are for these districts
Today, there is an orange alert for heat wave in 17 districts of the state. These districts include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Moga, Sangrur, Patiala, Mohali and Malerkotla. While a yellow alert has been issued in Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Rupnagar.
However, the Meteorological Department has reported severe heat in Ludhiana and Patiala. Similarly, heat wave conditions have been recorded in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Bathinda.
