Amritsar, June 8: A Heat wave alert has been issued in Punjab from June 9. The average maximum temperature has increased by 1.8°C compared to yesterday. This increase is expected to continue today i.e. Sunday. But it is a matter of relief that no alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for today. The temperature in Punjab is still 1.9°C below normal.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding heat wave in the state from tomorrow, i.e. June 9. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Bathinda district at 42.6°C. In other major cities, Chandigarh recorded a temperature of 39.9°C, Amritsar 41.1°C, and Ludhiana 40.0°C.
Heat wave warning in the coming days
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for the coming days. Hot winds are expected to blow in the southern and south-western parts of the state from June 9 to June 11. Special caution will be required in Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib districts.

Patiala- The sky is expected to be clear. The temperature may remain between 27 degrees and 40 degrees.
Mohali- The sky is expected to be clear. The temperature may remain between 28 degrees and 38 degrees.
