According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may rise up to four degrees during this time. In such a situation, a yellow alert has been issued by the department. The temperature may be 44 to 46 degrees in many areas of Punjab and 41-44 degrees in some.

The department has issued an advisory asking people to avoid direct sun. According to the department, the weather will be dry for 4-5 consecutive days, due to which the heat will increase.

It is more dangerous for children, elderly and patients, so they need to avoid it especially. During the last 24 hours, there has been a change in temperature due to rain in some places of the state.

Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 40 degrees. Similarly, the temperature was recorded at 39 degrees in Patiala, 39.1 degrees in Samrala and 37.7 degrees in Mohali. A drop of 0.5 degrees has been recorded from the previous total average maximum temperature.

Some measures to protect yourself from Heat Wave

When going out of the house in the afternoon, keep a cloth with you so that you can cover your head, neck and ears with it.
