Chamoli, May 20: The pilgrimage to Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib, the famous pilgrimage site of Sikhs in Uttarakhand, will begin from May 25. The Indian Army team has reached Gurudwara Govindghat to clear the snow and prepare the path before the pilgrimage. This time, tight security arrangements have also been made.
This holy pilgrimage will start on 22nd May with the departure of the first batch led by the Panj Pyaras. After which, this journey will start in full swing. To add to the grandeur of this religious ceremony, Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retired) S. Gurmeet Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with many ministers, saints and other dignitaries, will visit the Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib complex, Rishikesh and receive blessings.
Gurudwara Sahib is at a height of 15 thousand feet
Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust has made preparations to warmly welcome and honour all the guests and devotees. The doors of Hemkund Sahib, situated at an altitude of about 15 thousand feet, will be opened for devotees from May 25. Before this, an army team surveyed the area so that the work of removing snow and making the path could be started in a safe and effective manner.
