After the Shivling was broken in Khanna, workers of a Hindu organization took to the streets.

On one hand, claims are being made of strong security arrangements across Punjab for Independence Day; on the other hand, thieves exposed these arrangements by committing the crime in the ancient Shivpuri temple of Khanna. Here the thieves not only committed theft but also broke the Shivling with a hammer. Hindu organizations raised questions about the working style of the police and expressed anger over the incident.

The theft incident was captured on CCTV. Two thieves are seen on the CCTV. They break the silver on the Shivling and steal it. During this, they also break the Shivling. After this, they break the lock and steal the crown from the idol of Hanuman inside the temple.

Hindu organizations blocked the Delhi Amritsar National Highway in anger.

They also steal gold and silver ornaments from other idols and run away. This came to light when the temple was opened early this morning. There is a lot of anger among the people about such an incident in the month of Shravan.
