Tragic accident on Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway: 2 girls dies after bike tyre burst leads to fall from bridge

Khanna: A horrific road accident occurred on the Ludhiana Chandigarh National Highway in Khanna, Punjab, on Sunday evening when the tyre of a high-speed bike burst. In this accident, 2 girls riding on the bike died. At the same time, the condition of the young man driving the bike remains critical.

It is being told that due to the bursting of the bike’s tyre, the bike became uncontrollable, and both the girls riding on the bike fell from the bridge. Due to this, one girl died on the spot. At the same time, the other died while being taken to the hospital. The boy driving the bike has been referred to a hospital in Ludhiana in critical condition.

This accident happened on the bridge near the village of Dayalpura on the Samrala bypass of Khanna. The deceased girls were identified as Sapna (26) and Shakuntala (28) residents of Dhandhari district, Ludhiana. At the same time, the young man driving the bike has been identified as Ankit (30). It is being told that all three were returning from a religious place on a bike. One of the deceased girls is said to be a national Taekwondo player.

Passer Jassa Singh told me that two girls and a young man were riding bikes and were going towards Ludhiana. When the bike ascended the bridge near Dayalpura village on the Samrala bypass, its tyre burst, causing it to lose its balance. Due to this, the two girls riding the bike fell from the bridge to the road. In which one girl died on the spot and two injured were sent to the government hospital.

The two girls and the young man riding the bike were returning after paying obeisance at some Naina Devi. When the two girls fell from the bike on the bridge, they had envelopes of Prasad received from Mata Rani. The girls fell from a height of about 25 feet to the road.
