Hoshiarpur: In a recent crackdown on illegal mining, the police and mining department in Hoshiarpur responded to information received during the night about unauthorized mining activities in the village of Saheri. Acting on this tip-off, the Mehatiyana police, along with mining officials, arrived at the scene and seized a JCB (excavator) and a tractor involved in the illicit operation.
As a result of the raid, two individuals have been charged, and a case has been registered against them. The authorities had been alerted to the presence of a JCB and tractor trailer engaged in illegal mining, prompting the timely intervention by the Mehatiyana police and Mining Officer Maninder Singh from Hoshiarpur. The case was registered under relevant sections on January 21st.
