ASI dies during duty in Gurdaspur

He suffered a heart attack, was posted in the finger print branch, last rites performed with state honors

Gurdaspur: In Gurdaspur, an ASI of Punjab Police died of a sudden heart attack during duty. After post-mortem, he was cremated in his native village Dhoot. The cause of death is being told to be extreme heat.

Giving information, the deceased’s brother Ashwani Sharma said that his brother ASI Satpal Sharma (50) was posted in the finger print branch in the SSP office in Gurdaspur. Like every day, he went to his office in Gurdaspur from home in the morning.

In the afternoon, he received a call from the employees from the office that Satpal Sharma suddenly fainted due to a heart attack during duty.

He was immediately taken to the civil hospital by the employees, but the doctors there declared him dead.

After this, today, after his post-mortem, he was cremated with state honors by a police contingent in his native village Dhoot. Due to the sudden death, there is a wave of grief in the entire area. According to the information, the deceased has left behind his wife, a son and a daughter.
