In Mohali 6 kg silver umbrella stolen from temple

Two thieves, wearing helmets, broke four locks and glass to enter. 

Mohali: In Mohali, a case of theft has come to light in the Shiva temple located in Phase 5. Two accused came in helmets to the temple and stole the 6kg silver umbrella. They have put helmets on their heads so that no one can identify their faces. They have absconded with a silver umbrella weighing about 6 kg from the Shivling of the temple. The police have been informed about the matter. The police is investigating the matter.

In the morning as the priest saw the locks of the temple broken, he became suspicious. When he went inside, the shivling was broken. He informed the police and area councillor, Baljeet Kaur, about this matter.

After this, the police reached the spot and started investigated the matter. The accused entered the temple at 3:00 in the morning. They reached the Shivling by breaking four locks. Glasses were installed on the wall of the temple by the temple committee. But the accused broke these glasses and entered inside.

A similar incident happened in 2019.

Mahesh Kumar, the president of the temple committee, said that there was a theft inside the temple in 2019 as well. Even then, the thieves had stolen the silver from the Shivling in the same way. At that time, too, the Shivling was broken by the thieves. Glasses had been installed at the place where they entered the temple. But still, these thieves entered the temple from the same route. A complaint has been lodged with the police.
