The Income Tax Department has raided the premises of Tiwana Group of Industries, one of the leading industrial houses of Punjab, in 6 states. Investigation is also being conducted at the premises of their associate in Narnaul in Mahendragarh district of Haryana.
Income Tax teams are scrutinizing documents at about 12 locations. Some documents have been seized. Teams have reached Khanauri in Fatehgarh Sahib district and Roorkee Sirhind Patiala Road in Punjab.
Apart from this, Income Tax teams are conducting investigations at the residences and plants of Tiwana Group located in Sirhind, Navesa in Maharashtra, Kalyangarh in Ahmedabad, Dewas in Madhya Pradesh, Mahua Kheda Ganj in Rudrapur (Uttarakhand). The Income Tax Department has also raided the premises of its associate in Rajpura, Khanna, Narnaul.
According to government sources, the officials have recovered cash and documents of large-scale investment in real estate from the premises. Evidence supporting these investments was also recovered. An investigation is on to find out the undeclared assets. Soon it will be revealed.
These days, big industrialists are on the radar of Income Tax Department. Department officials have raided many companies in Punjab. However, the documentation process is still going on. No action has been taken against anyone.
