Industrialists from Jalandhar meet CM Bhagwant Mann, demand opening of Shambhu Border.

He further added that farmers have the right to raise their demands, but the closure of the road is affecting the work and livelihood of industrialists directly.

Today group of traders and industrialists from Jalandhar met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and raised the issue of the closure of the Shambhu border. Addressing the media after the meeting with CM, they said that a solution should be found as traders are suffering a lot due to the closure of the border.

Citing ordeals, one of the industrialists noted that due to the closure of the border, commuters are forced to take long routes which takes more time. Also, Traders noted that the import and export of goods are also getting affected as big goods trucks and trolleys are not able to pass from the narrow lanes of villages.

He further added that farmers have the right to raise their demands, but the closure of the road is affecting the work and livelihood of industrialists directly.

He appealed that the government and farmers should resolve the matter and border should be opened which will provide some relief to commuters and local businessmen. Showing trust in the Punjab Government, Industrialists said that they all have full trust in Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and soon a solution will be given to all.

Talking about the loss incurred, he said that on average, each district of the state has suffered a huge loss of over a thousand crore due to the closure of the border. He also added that traders of other states are taking advantage of this situation taking all the profit and flourishing their trades.
