Jagjit Dallewal yet to receive medical assistance; hearing in Supreme Court today

The Supreme Court said that according to the medical report, Dallewal's condition is deteriorating day by day. It is the responsibility of Punjab to ensure his stable health.

New Delhi: The health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a fast to death for 37 days, is deteriorating day by day. The hearing of this case will be held in the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court has asked the Punjab government to submit a report today. DGP Gaurav Yadav and the Chief Secretary have been asked by the Attorney General (AG) of the Punjab government, Gurminder Singh, during the previous hearing to submit a fresh report related to Dallewal’s health.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court said that Dallewal should be shifted to a temporary hospital. The Supreme Court said that according to the medical report, Dallewal’s condition is deteriorating day by day. It is the responsibility of Punjab to ensure his stable health.

On the one hand, the Punjab government has sought three more days to comply with the Supreme Court’s orders to send farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal to the hospital. The next hearing of this case has been scheduled for today, i.e. January 2.

Let us tell you that on December 31, the Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing till January 2 on the orders of the Punjab government to admit farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a fast to death for the last 35 days, to the hospital. There were various demands. At that time, the vacation bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia had fixed January 2 as the date for the next hearing of the case.

On January 1, the Punjab government continued its efforts to convince farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal to seek medical help. Former Additional Superintendent of Police Jaskaran Singh said that talks have also been held with farmer leaders in this regard. For the last few days, the team led by Jaskaran Singh has been trying to convince Dallewal to seek medical help on behalf of the state government.
