Jagraon, July 18: In Jagraon, Ludhiana, the police have arrested the accused youth in the case of kidnapping a minor school girl on the pretext of marriage. Sukhwinder Singh, in-charge of the bus stand post of City Police Station, said that the victim’s mother had lodged a complaint with the police. The police is investigating the matter.
According to the information, the girl had come to Jagraon from the village on a scooty with her elder sister to go to school. The elder sister dropped her at the bus stand chowk and parked her Activa in the parking lot and went to Ludhiana for a job. After some time, a call came from the teacher from the school that the girl did not reach school.
The young man took her away on the pretext of marriage
The family searched for the girl a lot. They also questioned her relatives and friends, but could not find any clue. Later it was found out that a young man took her away by luring her with the promise of marriage. The police took immediate action and caught the accused and handed over the girl to her family.
The investigating officer said that a case has been registered against the accused youth in City Police Station. The accused will be presented in the court and further legal action is being taken.
