Amritsar: The father of Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De and MP from Khadoor Sahib, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail and is a pro-Khalistan leader, was put under house arrest by the police on Tuesday morning. Soon, a heavy police force reached his village Jallupur Kheda and his residence was surrounded from all sides by the police.
Tarsem Singh, father of Khadoor Sahib MP had recently announced that he would form a new party. According to the information, this party was to be formed during the Maghi fair. After talking to Amritpal Singh, Tarsem Singh was to announce the office bearers of the new party. Apart from this, he was to join the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha in Mohali.
Police started gathering in Jallupur Kheda village from late Monday night. By Tuesday morning, the entire village came under police siege. The villagers said that more than 100 policemen are deployed especially outside Amritpal Singh’s house.
Police officials have not yet disclosed anything about the incident. Despite heavy security in the village, the police have avoided saying anything openly in this matter.
After being house arrest, Tarsem Singh released a video. In the video he can be seen saying that it is the second year of Qaumi Insaaf Morcha and a very big gathering is being held there. He added that he had to attend it, but since last night, the police force has been deployed in the entire village. The village is being cordoned off, an atmosphere of terror is being created in the village.
Targeting the Punjab government, he said that the Bhagwant Mann government is destroying democracy by not giving people the right to express their thoughts and views.
Tarsem Singh appealed to the people to reach the Morcha in maximum numbers support them and protect the rights of Bandi Sikhs.
