Jalandhar : Jalandhar district has secured the top position across the state in delivering citizen-centric services through its sewa kendras.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal attributed this achievement to the relentless efforts of the district administration, which has been working under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to provide everyday services to the public in a simple and timely manner.
He explained that the performance of the sewa kendras is reviewed weekly, and feedback is collected from the citizens to ensure that they do not face any issues.
Dr. Aggarwal congratulated the officers and staff, stating that this milestone was achieved through their hard work and teamwork.
Due to these continuous efforts, Jalandhar district has once again succeeded in maintaining the record of the lowest pendency rate.
Dr. Aggarwal also mentioned that instructions have been issued to all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to conduct regular visits to sewa kendras and personally oversee the service delivery.
Notably, over the last year (from August 23, 2023, to August 22, 2024), the administration received 398,673 applications for various citizen services through the sewa kendras, out of which 99.91% of eligible applications were processed. The remaining applications are being processed and will be resolved within the stipulated time.
According to the state-level report on citizen service delivery, Jalandhar secured the first position, followed by Kapurthala in second place and Hoshiarpur in third.
Dr. Aggarwal reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing uninterrupted and timely citizen services and directed officials to prioritize the processing of applications to maintain zero pendency.
