Jalandhar, June 15: In the village Rurka Kalan near Goraya in Jalandhar, Punjab, a bank guard was cleaning his gun and was shot dead. The deceased has been identified as Anoop Sanghera. He was about 34 years old. When the sound of gunshot was heard, people immediately informed the village sarpanch. After which the police of Goraya police station immediately reached the spot for investigation. The police took Anoop Sanghera’s body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital in Phillaur, Jalandhar for postmortem.
In this regard, former Sarpanch Kulwant Singh Sandhu said- Anoop Sanghera (34 years), a resident of village Patti Bulla, died at around 3:30 in the afternoon. This young man worked as a guard in the Cooperative Society Bank located in Goraya. Since there was a holiday on Saturday and Sunday, he had brought his licensed gun with him and was cleaning it. Suddenly, a bullet was fired and it passed near his eye and hit his head. Due to which he died on the spot.

According to the information received, as soon as the firing was reported, the police reached the spot for investigation. Blood was scattered at the crime scene, and the deceased’s licensed double-barrel gun was lying near the body. Deceased Anoop’s eight-year-old son lives here, and his wife had gone to Dubai six-seven months ago. His father was also not present at home at the time of the incident.
