Jalandhar: Family attacked with sharp weapons by drug dealers for stopping sale in locality

Jalandhar: Some miscreants attacked a Sikh man in Jalandhar’s Tobri Mohalla when he tried to intervene and stop drug sales. The victim has alleged that drug dealers are active in their locality and when anyone turns against them, they come and beat them up. He also added that letters were written to senior officials several.

He also added that letters were written to senior officials several times regarding the matter, but no action has been taken against the peddlers so far.

The victim tried to stop the sale of drugs which later turned into a heated argument and then violence. The miscreants attacked him. The victim was identified as Surinder Singh. When he protested against the sale of drugs late at night, he was attacked and beaten. Police station division number 2 has been informed about the matter.

Surinder Singh, a resident of Tobri Mohalla, said that drugs are being sold in large quantities in their locality. The victim said that he along with his family were attacked when he intervened in the sale of drugs.

Victim Surinder Singh fears that his life is in danger. He added that his mother and sister-in-law were also attacked by the miscreants. They were admitted to the hospital for the treatment.
