He also informed that if there is any amendment or change in the orders issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court or Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court or the Government, then action will be taken accordingly.

Jalandhar: Applications for licenses for temporary shops for the sale of firecrackers in Jalandhar can be made till 4 pm on October 12. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that as per the instructions issued by the Punjab Government, Department of Industry and Commerce, 20% of the provisional licenses issued in 2016 under ‘The Explosive Rules-2008’ (The Explosive Rules) are to be issued through licenses.

He said that residents falling under the Police Commissionerate Jalandhar city, who are not less than 18 years of age, will have to obtain temporary licenses for temporary shops to sell firecrackers at the designated place of the Municipal Corporation in Jalandhar city. They can download the license from Arms Licensing Branch, Commissionerate Jalandhar or Office Commissionerate Police Jalandhar website https://jalandhrcity.punjabpolice.gov.in and submit it from 10 to 12 October till 4 pm.

He said that applications received after the stipulated time will not be considered. He also informed that the draw in this regard will be held on October 18 at 3 pm at Red Cross Bhawan, Jalandhar. He also informed that if there is any amendment or change in the orders issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court or Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court or the Government, then action will be taken accordingly.
