Jalandhar: A fire broke out in the migrants’ quarters in Buta Mandi area of Jalandhar late last night after which the fire brigade team was informed. After reaching the spot, the fire brigade team brought the fire under control with the help of two vehicles. Due to the massive fire, household items lying in the quarter, two motorcycles and Activa were completely burnt to ashes. However no causalities have been reported.
Giving more information about this, the victim Sulochana said that at around 1.30 in the night, our younger son felt the heat and then he saw that there was fire in the house. In bit to control the fire, family members started pouring water. Fire tenders were called to bring down the fire. The reason of how the fire started is yet to be known.
Regarding this, Fire Brigade operative Baljinder Singh said that the call was received around 2:00 in the night, after which he reached the spot with his team.
