Jalandhar: Municipal Corporation issues notice to Bath Castle over pending dues, instruct to deposit Rs 1.58 crore

As per the rules and policy, If the money was not deposited in the said time period then interest was to be charged on the outstanding amount. 

Jalandhar: Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has issued a notice to Bath Castle, one of the biggest and lavish wedding banquet halls in Jalandhar. The notice has instructed the owners of Bath Castle to deposit the outstanding amount of Rs 1.58 crore with immediate effect.

The action has been taken by the Building Department of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. It is alleged that the owners of Bath Castle did not pay the outstanding amount after paying the first installment.

It has been said in the notice issued that Jalandhar Municipal Corporation had approved regularizing Bath Castle in the year 2017. Its total fee was around Rs 1.04 crore. 6 installments were made to deposit the money. In which the first installment was given on demand in February 2018. The amount of which was around 15 lakh 26 thousand. The remaining money should have been given as per the time taken. The outstanding amount was around 89.25 lakh rupees at that time.

Interest for 2370 days became 70 lakhs

As per the rules and policy, If the money was not deposited in the said time period then interest was to be charged on the outstanding amount.  The Municipal Corporation has charged nearly 12 percent interest of the outstanding amount taking the total amount to rs 1.58 crore.
