He threw something like plastic upwards and suddenly electricity hit him

Aarav, a 9-year-old resident of the Guru Nanakpura West slum, who was living in a house built on Powercom land in Jalandhar, was electrocuted. The incident was captured on CCTV. As soon as the child threw a stone tied to a rope at the 66 KV line while playing in the park, a huge explosion occurred and the child’s body caught fire due to the electric current.

Aarav, a Class 3 student, is in critical condition. Doctors at the Civil Hospital referred him to Amritsar. Aarav’s maternal grandfather Hari Singh said that Aarav was playing with children in the park at 4 pm. He threw something like plastic upwards and suddenly electricity hit him. He was taken to the Civil Hospital, but from there he was referred to Amritsar.

It was seen in the CCTV that as soon as the explosion happened, the youth standing nearby ran away and returned after a few moments. They picked up Aarav. Powercom also did not receive any information about this incident and neither did the power supply get cut off. Aarav’s parents remained in Amritsar till late night.
