Operation Eagle: Police seizes Qazi Mandi area in Jalandhar

300 police personnel engaged in checking, questioning of suspects.

Jalandhar: In Jalandhar, Punjab Police have started Operation Eagle against drug abuse. Under which officers go out to check in sensitive areas of their respective districts.

In this sequence, today, i.e., on Friday, the Commissionerate Police conducted checking with a heavy force in Qazi Mandi, infamous for drug abuse in Jalandhar city. This check was started early in the morning. ADGP Amardeep Singh Rai also arrived during the said operation.

ADGP Amardeep Singh Rai said that, to make the state drug-free, Operation Eagle has been run in all the districts on the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav. The operation was being supervised by the captain of each district himself. In Jalandhar city, it is being headed by Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma.

More than 300 employees are checking in on Operation Eagle, which started at 7 a.m. During the operation, the houses of those people were checked to see if they had drug cases pending against them or were suspects. More than 100 houses were searched.

CP Swapan Sharma said that checking was done in Qazi Mandi for Operation Eagle. The CP said that such checking will continue on a routine basis so that the mafia can be completely wiped out. The CP appealed to the public for cooperation and said that if anyone sells drugs, then inform.
