Giving information to the press in this regard, Dr. Ankur Gupta IPS Senior Police Captain, Jalandhar Rural said that CIA staff Jalandhar-Rural while taking action against drug smugglers, 2 drug smugglers have been arrested.

On 22.06.2024, Insp. Pushap Bali, in-charge CIA staff Jalandhar-Rural, received a tip-off that drug delivery was to take place in the vicinity of Patara police station.

When the police party reached Adda Puranpur for checking and searching, there were 2 young men who identified themselves as Shahid Ali, son of Navar Ali, a resident of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and another young man whose name is Samir Ahmed, son of Jameel Ahmed, Badhaun State, Uttar Pradesh recovered with 1 kg of opium.

Police registered case against them and accused were arrested according to the record. During interrogation, the arrested persons told that we used to hide this opium in their kit bags and supply it to different areas of Punjab.

During the police remand, there is a possibility of more revelations. Which will be done by checking the forward and backward links of them.
