Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has condemned the hate crime incident at the Gurudwara in Gravesend, UK. He termed this incident unfortunate, which happened after 8 Sikhs were elected to the UK Parliament. He has demanded strict action from the UK government against those who carry out such incidents.

Giani Raghbir Singh said that the Sikh community, which wants the welfare of the world, has earned a good name in the country and abroad by its hard work, ability, and honesty while protecting the religion given by the ten Gurus.

He also mentioned how in the recent parliamentary elections held in England, many Punjabis, out of which 4 are turbaned Sikhs, have been elected to the Parliament. He added that it is extremely worrying and condemnable that two attackers in England entered a Gurudwara Sahib and attacked the congregation with a kirpan.

Giani Raghbir Singh further added that those who are attacking the congregation by entering the Gurudwara Sahib in England will have no religion. He termed the attackers as enemies of humanity and the bearers of barbarism.

Demand for strict action

Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said that the British government should take strict action against the enemies of humanity who carry out such attacks. The Sikhs living there should be made to feel safe so that the Sikhs can follow their religious beliefs freely and contribute to the all-round development of England.
