Kapurthala, June 28: A road accident took place on Saturday morning on the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway in Kapurthala. Two vehicles collided near the Gudana Bridge near Dhilwan Toll Plaza. Three people, including two women, died in the accident, while 14 people were injured. The police are investigating.
The vehicles involved in the accident were an Ertiga car and another four-wheeler. The collision was so severe that both vehicles overturned. The Ertiga car fell off the bridge. The Ertiga was being driven by Bham, son of Dharampal, a resident of Karnal. Two women, Praveen Kumari Sanjana and Praveen Kumari’s husband, Kalyan Singh, both residents of Hoshiarpur, died in the accident.
All the injured are being treated
According to ASI Kuldeep Singh, in-charge of the Road Safety Force’s Dayalpur-Beas route, he received information about the accident from a passerby at around 5 am. As soon as he received the information, he reached the spot along with his colleagues Constable Vikas and Constable Jagtar Singh.
All the injured have been admitted to the hospital in Beas. SHO of Thana Dhilwan, Dalvindrabir Singh said that ASI Murta Singh is investigating the case.
