A prisoner’s health deteriorated in Kapurthala jail of Punjab. After which he was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. At present the cause of death is not clear. The postmortem of the body will be done, after which the cause will be clear.
The deceased has been identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Tarsem Lal, resident of Mohalla Mehtabgarh, Kapurthala. He was in jail in the case of drug smuggling. The team of Kapurthala Police Station Kotwali has started investigating the case. Statements of family members will be recorded soon.
Dr. Siddharth Bindra, present in the Civil Hospital, told the media that a prisoner lodged in the Central Jail was brought to the Civil Hospital when his health deteriorated. His name is being told as Rajinder Singh. Rajinder Singh was in jail in the case of NDPS.
Rajinder’s health deteriorated in the jail itself, so after receiving mild treatment in the jail, he was immediately brought to Civil Hospital Kapurthala. He had stopped breathing even before his treatment could begin here. He said that the body of the deceased prisoner had been kept in the postmortem room of the civil hospital. The police of the police station Kotwali have also been informed about the case. The police have also informed the family members.
