Major Drug bust in Kapurthala: Smuggler apprehended, tries to run

50 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession.

Kapurthala: In Kapurthala district, a CIA staff team arrested a drug smuggler riding a bike near a government school while patrolling in the Subhanpur area. 50 grams of heroin were recovered from him. Police said that an FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Subhanpur police station. At present, the accused is being questioned about his network.

CIA staff in-charge Jarnail Singh said that SI Labh was coming towards Subhanpur while patrolling with the police team. When he reached near the government school Badshahpur, a young man was seen coming on a bike from the village Boot. He got scared of seeing the police team and turned back and started going. Then the bike slipped, and he fell to the ground.

The police team chased the accused and arrested him. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Paramjeet Singh, alias Pammu, a resident of village Boot. When the police team searched him, 50 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Subhanpur police station. The accused is being questioned regarding the drug network.
