Kapurthala: Knifepoint robbery at petrol pump; robbers flee away with cash leaving two employees injured

This incident shocked everyone as this took place in broad daylight and exposed the claims of police security day ahead of Independence day. 

Kapurthala: In a shocking incident, Last evening at around 5 pm, some armed robbers attacked the employees of a petrol pump located in village Sadduwal Jabbowal road in Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division of district Kapurthala. Robbers carried out the robbery on knifepoint. This incident shocked everyone as this took place in broad daylight and exposed the claims of police security day ahead of Independence day.

It is being told that in this incident, two employees working at the petrol pump were also injured by the robbers. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Lohian Khas. There is an atmosphere of panic after this incident.

Giving information, Yograj Singh Momi, owner of SR Petrol Pump, said that late in the evening, three armed robbers came to his pump on a bike and attacked his employees Krishna Kumar and Anand Kumar. Both injured employees are residents of Uttar Pradesh. Robbers attacked with sharp weapons and seriously injured both of them.

The injured employees have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Pump owner Jograj Singh said that the robbers fled after looting cash worth 20 to 25 thousand. He has demanded the arrest of the accused. DSP Sultanpur Lodhi Babandeep Singh reached the spot and started investigating the case.

The incident has come to light at times when security checks have been beefed up in view of Independence Day. This shocking incident of theft at petrol pump in broad daylight light has exposed shallow arrangements of security in the city.
