Women drug smuggler arrested in Kapurthala

Heroin and narcotic powder recovered, and tried to run away after seeing the police.

Kapurthala: Kapurthala’s Subhanpur police station has arrested a female drug smuggler during a campaign against criminal elements. 5 grams of heroin and 26.26 grams of narcotic powder have been recovered from her. Today, the accused female smuggler will be produced in court, and police remand will be sought.

Investigating officer ASI Davinderpal said that an FIR has been registered against the accused woman in Subhanpur police station under sections of the NDPS Act, and interrogation is being done. According to the information, ASI Davinder Pal was patrolling with his police party in search of criminal elements under the supervision of Subhanpur SHO Sub Inspector Kanwarjit Singh.

Meanwhile, she was seen coming from village Lakhan Khole, who was stopped on suspicion and questioned. The woman was identified as Jagir Kaur, wife of Kishan Singh, a resident of the village of Lakhan Khole.

ASI Davinder Pal said that during the search of the accused woman arrested by the female police personnel, 5 grams of heroin and 26.26 grams of narcotic powder were recovered from her.

At present, a case has been registered against the accused woman smuggler in Subhanpur police station, and interrogation is being done. Today, the accused will be produced in court, and police remand will be sought. So that the supply chain of drugs can be traced.
