Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the National Security Act (NSA), is going to name his party “Akali Dal” (Shri Anandpur Sahib). On January 14, a new regional political party of Punjab will be formed at his behest.

It will be announced during the “Maghi Da Mela” organized on the occasion of Maghi festival in Sri Muktsar Sahib. This information was given by firebrand and Faridkot MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa while sharing information with the media.

He said that the new regional party to be formed by Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh will be named Akali Dal (Shri Anandpur Sahib). On this occasion, Panth Bachao, Punjab Bachao rally has been organized, in which a large number of people are expected to reach. During the rally, Amritpal Singh’s father and his close associates will announce the party.

Stir in Punjab politics

This move of Amritpal Singh, who is often in the news for his statements in support of Khalistan, has created a stir in regional politics. The issues of his party will be to protect the interests of the Sikh community in the state and focus on local problems of Punjab like unemployment, agricultural crisis and environmental protection. Along with this, he will also raise his voice against drug addiction.

Problem for Akali Dal

This is a time of worry for Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), which calls itself a Panth-supporting party. Akali Dal (Badal) has only one MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal. While the newly announced party has two MPs Amritpal Singh and Sarbjit Singh Khalsa.

On the other hand, the rebel faction of Akali Dal is once again adopting a rebellious tone. They are demanding compliance with the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib dated December 2. If this does not happen, then another party can be formed in the name of Akali Dal.
