Amritsar: Khalistan supporter and newly elected MP from Shri Khadoor Sahib seat Amritpal Singh’s brother Harpreet Singh Happy has got bail from Phillaur Court. After the remand ended 4 days ago, Happy and Lovepreet were sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Last Saturday, the court had given the date of Tuesday, 23 July, for hearing the bail plea. But even on Tuesday, the hearing on the bail of Lovepreet Singh and Happy could not be completed. Today both sides were heard in the court. After which the court has granted bail to Happy.
Phillaur police arrested Happy along with his partner Lovepreet from Phillaur Highway on the evening of 11 July. 4 grams of ice drug were recovered from them. Due to not getting the remand of both from the lower court, the police have filed a criminal revision petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge KK Jain.
On which the hearing will be held today. At the same time, the police have already sent the person to jail from whom Happy and Lovepreet bought the drug. These include the names of ice supplier Sandeep Arora and Sandeep’s photographer friend Manish Marwah.
Happy had brought ice worth Rs 10,000 from Ludhiana.
According to the information received, Happy and Lovepreet had come in their Creta car to buy an ice drug worth 10 thousand rupees from Sandeep, a resident of Haibowal, Ludhiana. The police had also caught Sandeep.
On this, SSP Ankul Gupta said that during routine checking, the police had arrested both of them from Phillaur Highway. Both were preparing to take the drug while sitting in a white Creta car with black glasses. The accused also had a lighter and a foil.
